Priorities

Bud will treat every tax dollar with care, bringing discipline from military leadership and private business management to county finances. He supports transparent budgeting, careful spending review, honest communication about taxes and tradeoffs, responsible long-term planning, and public decisions residents can understand.

Bud supports responsible residential, commercial, light industrial, and agricultural development that strengthens McHenry County while preserving community character. Growth should support jobs, protect neighborhoods, respect farms and open space, and avoid unnecessary pressure on roads, water, and taxpayers.

Bud will work to protect McHenry County’s conservation areas, waterways, wetlands, groundwater, farmland, wildlife habitat, parks, trails, and historic resources. These assets are central to the county’s quality of life, identity, and long-term economic strength.

Bud understands the realities of small business, including managing costs, meeting payroll, and serving customers. He supports policies that sustain agriculture, support local employers, attract appropriate development, create good jobs, and balance public interest with private property rights.

Bud will focus on county problems, practical results, and residents’ needs. He will bring independent judgment, clear communication, careful planning, transparency, and accountability to county leadership.
